Continental ContiCrossContact LX is a modern summer tyre designed for medium and large 4WD vehicles. The model has an asymmetric tread, which is divided into two independent parts which ensure its good behaviour both in dry and wet conditions. The open outer shoulder area is responsible for good manoeuvrability and short braking distance on dry surfaces. Four perimeter channels with upwardly widened structure evacuate water when driving on wet roads and provide protection against the dangerous aquaplaning.

Three circumferential ribs in the central part of the tread provide high stability and precise driving control. The tyre provides also great acoustic comfort - the tread incisions are specially designed to suppress the sounds emitted by the tyre while driving. This guarantees a pleasant and quiet travel. Continental ContiCrossContact LX is based on a modern blend that is lightweight and durable. The lower weight enabled the designers to reduce rolling resistance and thus decrease fuel consumption. The unique properties of the blend contribute to the tyre’s longer service life and greater resistance to mechanical damage. These features support the tyre in reaching excellent off-road parameters and you don't have to worry about the condition of tyres while driving on unpaved roads. Engineers also focused on the correct distribution of forces within the tyre and the tyre offers full performance regardless of tread wear.

ContiCrossContact LX Reviews

This is the second set of tyres from new, & a change of pattern from the originally fitted tyres which wore out at 15k miles. I bought these on a deal, and I am changing one pair after 25k miles. I have been pleased overall with these tyres but I am a little fed up with the tendency of Continental tyres wearing unevenly, this is the fourth set of continentals on all model cars I have owned.

Good in all aspects. Perhaps it has coincided that I punctured more than with other tires. A little weak in compound and sidewalls.

I have had the factory installed Continental Cross Contact Sport tires on my 2013 Mercedes ML 350. This is the second ML 350 I have owned. In total I have had 5 sidewall failures on the Continental tires. I have used both Micheline and Pirelli tires as replacement tires on these vehicles and never had a problem. Granted I take my vehicle on gravel roads to a fishing club I belong to but I have been going there for over 30 years as have 40 other members and I have never had a problem with any other vehicle or tire combination. No other member has ever had a sidewall failure. Both Mercedes and Continental refuse to take this issue seriously. I can only imagine that the Continental tires are poorly constructed or they are inadequate for this vehicle.
