Continental WinterContact TS 860 is another winter tyre from the legendary line of this German firm. Tyres marked with "TS" have been recognised for last few years as one of the best on the market. The previous model (TS 850) was one of the best rated tyres in Continental history. The tyre was tested in more than 47 tests and was frequently awarded with top grades. TS 850 is also highly appreciated by customers. More than 90% of our customers recommend it. Continental declares that WinterContact TS860 is even better.

On the wet, winter roads Continental WinterContact TS 860 offers 5% shorter braking distance than its predecessor. On the ice, braking is more effective by 4%. Continental engineers have also managed to improve overall tyre performance on slippery surfaces. Rolling resistances and wear resistance are comparable to its predecessor, the TS850.

The high performance of Continental WinterContact TS 860 was achieved by the use of a modified rubber blend and modified tread pattern. The "Cool Chili" blend contains a lot of silica, which shortens the braking distance on wet surfaces. The polymer ingredients of the blend are specially selected to maximise traction on winter surfaces and at low temperatures. Continental WinterContact TS 860 offers full control of the vehicle in the most difficult conditions.

Moreover, the tyre uses an innovative water evacuation system. Driving and braking on a slippery surface creates a kind of fluid coat that increases the contact area with the road and reduces the risk of skidding. This solution greatly improves safety when driving on glazed frost.

This model has a directional tread without circumferential grooves, which is characteristic of modern winter tyres. Its characteristic feature is SnowCurve technology with 3D grooves arranged all over the tread surface. The additional groove on the walls of the tread blocks ensure better grip in the snow, which significantly improves traction and control on slippery roads.

Continental tyres are designed for a variety of road conditions: dry, wet, snowy and icy roads. Such conditions are typical from October to March in Central Europe. Therefore, Continental WinterContact TS 860 is perfect for the winter season.

Been driving them for 2 winters for around 14000 km-8700 miles. Thread left is 5mm, so for another winter. Drive is great, when new there was a little wobble in corners, now there great,,, good on snow, especialy good on wet road. Will buy again even thou i think the wear is avarage.

Never had better winter tyre. Grip in wet, dry and snow is perfect. Wear is also good, after 6000km they have worn for 1-1,5mm. And they are quiet. There are only two downsides. Sidewalls are pretty soft so car will loose a bit of steering response but not handling and because of thread design they pick up sand and stones so much that i have no color left on side skirts and rear bumper. If roads in your country are sanded during winter you should consider buying mudflaps.
