Advanced technology and driver safety were the designers' two main aims when producing this tyre. The Continental ContiSportContact 5 has been designed for premium passenger cars and SUVs. The model performs exceptionally well both on city roads and on longer journeys. Its massive, flexible blocks on the outside shoulder and its innovative central ribbing ensure excellent grip and stability on corners. The model also guarantees excellent grip and driving stability thanks to the increased contact surface between the tyre and the road.

The Continental ContiSportContact 5 also offers safe braking performance thanks to its Black Chilli technology, which has improved tyre stability and significantly reduced braking distances compared with models from previous generations. The special resins added to the rubber compound give the tyre excellent grip on any surface, including during dynamic manoeuvres. The tread of the Continental ContiSportContact 5 is noted for its unique construction, made up of two layers: the outer "cap” and the inner "base”. The outer layer is responsible for good grip on wet surfaces, while the inner layer reduces rolling resistance. The model is ideal for drivers who favour a sporty and dynamic style of driving, whatever the weather.

The Continental ContiSportContact 5 was ranked 1st for size 225/45 R17 summer tyres organised by ADAC in 2016 .

Standard fitting on Hyundai Tucson SE Premium. Lasted less than 13000 miles on front axle. Is it my driving? I don't think so. Previous car was Hyundai IX35 SE Premium (basically the same car), changed front tyres on that one at 31000 miles. Previous car to that was a Discovery TD5, tyres lasted 40000 miles between changes so its not my driving! Ok for feedback and grip and noise levels but will not be buying as replacements

I bought a Ford Edge automatic in December 2017 and the Continental tyres are worn out after 12,500 miles. The rear tyres are worn to 2 mm and the front ones are illegal. In 2013 I had a Volvo XC90 whose Continental tyres needed replacing after about 13,000 so I am beginning to think Continentals are not a good choice for large SUVs.

I purchased a Ford Edge 2.0 Titanium 210bhp with these fitted. Having covered just over 5000 miles the rears are at 3.2mm(max) and the fronts are at 5.2mm max. At this rate I’ll have to replace all before 10,000 miles - absolutely disgusting. Will not buy Continental tyres to replace them.

These tyres came fitted to my wife's car, so when she needed 2 fronts replaced on MOT I stuck with the same on the rear, imagine my surprise when less than 5000 miles later the fronts were on the legal limits AGAIN!, and now the rears were done too. My wife does not drive like a boy racer either so the tyres have not been thrashed. Performance wise I can not fault them but they are high end tyres which are not cheap and wear out faster than my bank balance can keep up unfortunately, would not buy again on wear only (sorry).

Was running them on my 2007 BMW 530D comfort levels was OK but I ended up running the tire pressure below 2.2 bar in town for a smoother ride. Dry and wet and is not the best is extremely predictable which inspires confidence and makes these enjoyable tyres to drive had. Unfortunately, I only got 20,000 km out of a set which is the reason why I will be moving to Michelin's

Very soft sidewall, not precise steering, good in dry and with normal driving good in wet. Average wear.
